Design Study of a Line Integrated Thomson Scattering System for TST-2 Spherical Tokamak Device

A design study of a line integrated Thomson scattering (TS) system with complete backscattering configuration has been performed to clarify practical problems. Installation on the TST-2 spherical tokamak was assumed, and an optical ready-made components, are adopted. Some aspects, such as aberration, masking effect laser combining mirror, misalignment investigated by ray tracing calculations. The performance density profile reconstruction also investigated. It found that tangential-multi-chord measurement midplane shows good effective localization, error enhancement in is small. In addition, efficiency about order magnitude larger than present conventional TS TST-2. attractiveness measurements demonstrated.
